The Second Sacrament of Baptism
The second sacrament we provide is that of baptism. When an individual has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we welcome that person to participate in baptism as a sign of God’s faithfulness in their salvation, and a sign of God’s promise of continued growth in His grace. Infant baptism is also offered to the children of believers as a sign of God’s faithfulness in setting the child apart in the Household of Faith. This sacrament does not save the child nor guarantee salvation in the future, but is a mark of God’s pursuit of children in the family of God.
We also offer the dedication of infants and young children for those whose traditions prefer this step of faith rather than infant baptism. Although we do not classify this act as a sacrament of the Church, yet we believe it is a godly step in setting the child apart for service to the Lord.
All three biblical modes of baptism (immersion, pouring and sprinkling) are offered at Community Church.
We ask that everyone desiring baptism, whether for themselves or their children, register for and attend the second session of our Membership and Baptism Class which is held at the church.
