Missions

Serve Local & Go Global

We want to take the Gospel where it has not yet gone and serve our communities well. It’s not just something we think we ought to do – it’s a command from Christ and was even the last thing He told His followers before He ascended into Heaven after His resurrection.

We are compelled to Serve Local & Go Global – to be partners with those carrying the Gospel where it has not yet gone and is needed most. We want to place feet on the ground where there are none – investing to see the Good News take root where there is no church, no Christian voice and no access to hope. As we reach the unreached, we’re watching for those that God is calling from among us, to equip them and send them where the Gospel is not yet known.

This is a major undertaking with lots of moving parts and pieces, but that also means that all of us can play a role in it. Over the five years of Futures & Foundations, we want to commission teams for shorter team missions, but also train and equip individuals for long term investment into the mission field with new and previously established missions partners.

This is a goal that we accomplish with the support of local, domestic & international partners.

Missions

Community Church as an organization has and will continue to be committed to tithing 10% of the entire annual budget specially for supporting missions, both internationally and domestically.  As a church, we want to continue to seek and serve the areas around the globe that need to hear about Jesus.

The following seven principles guide our philosophy of missions at Community Church, all aligning with our commitment to lead people into a focused life with Jesus Christ. We are committed to:

  1. the Great Commission
  2. a holistic approach to mission engagement
  3. strategic missionary partnerships
  4. active congregational involvement in our missions ministry
  5. being learner-servants with cultural sensibility and adaptability
  6. transparency regarding our stewardship of God’s finances
  7. long term, personal relationships with our missionaries and agencies

Have you ever felt the nudge by God to ‘go’ or to “do”, but you just didn’t know what that nudge meant? “God, what do I do with this stirring? What are you saying to me? Where do you want me to go?” The Gospels paint a clear picture that every follower of Jesus is a sent one.

The Mission Team at Community Church wants to help you explore what God might be inviting you into through our ‘Sent Ones’ Program. Join in with The Sent Ones discipleship program to help you go further towards exploring how you fit in the Mission of God! From the comfort of your own home, you will be able to join virtually, every other Wednesday at 6pm, beginning October 21st with our partners at Compel Global, who will be leading us through a 6 month discipleship journey.
